Acid and Lignin-Free and ten sheets per single package. Perfect for wrapping and supporting garments, textiles, keepsakes, collectibles and toys. This nonbuffered museum quality tissue is pH neutral and is safe for ALL items and all textiles. Cut to size for small items and for interleaving papers, scrapbooks and photographs. Safe even for older photographic prints and methods (including cyanotype, albumen and dye transfer). Will not cause color shift of vegetable dyes. Non-tarnishing for diecast, artifact and silver storage. Unlike dry-cleaner and gift grade tissue, this tissue is actually produced for archival and conservation applications. While other 'archival' tissues may be acid free, they are sometimes not lignin free and thus not truly archival. Tissue passes the ANSI P.A.T. (American National Standards Institute Photographic Activity Test) and the TAPPI T444 Silver Tarnish Test. We routinely test the pH levels of our tissues and of our sleeves to assure the highest quality possible. Recently our supply of pens 'dried up' . Waiting for the delivery of a fresh case, we tried to find some locally. It was astonishing to discover that even our local megacrafts and fabric/craft stores no longer carry them! It seems that they were having large quantities of 'archival' scrapbooking supplies returned because they were not testing in the acid-free range! It was an easy decision to add them to our line. You can use this pen yourself to test all materials (even ours!) that will come in contact with your stored treasures. It's a felt-tip pen with indicating solution. Just draw a small line or dot on your storage material and check the color. Blue to purple is good (purple is best). If your line or dot turns green or yellow, or is colorless, the paper, tissue, cloth, box or bag is acidic and should not be used for storage. No need to remember, it's right on the pen! Contains enough highest grade fresh silica gel (50 grams) to protect a 4 cubic foot container. Hard beaded desiccant is packed in an unbleached cotton muslin drawstring bag. When the beads turn pink - regenerate in either a microwave set on LOW or a standard oven set at 275 F. Complete instructions are included. It's that simple - use over and over! Great for storage boxes of all kinds. Can also be used in tackle boxes, safes, laptop computer cases, camera cases, on boats - anywhere moisture is a problem. These packs have a built-in replacement indicator. When the silica gel changes from blue > purple > palest pink - replace the desiccant. Each 2 gram desiccant pack is sealed in super-tough and archival transparent micro perforated film - safe for contact with all materials. Packets offer effective moisture control for sealed containers of roughly a gallon or less in area. Please note that this is for storage in climate-controlled areas. For extreme situations and larger containers - use more desiccant. Each package ships in a barrier sleeve - your assurance of arrival in active condition. FDA approved for contact with medications. The packets are nondusting and safe for electronic equipment, cameras, scuba gear (including underwater camera housings), and collectibles of all kinds. To use in underwater camera housings to prevent fogging simply place one packet between the camera and the housing about 10 minutes before diving.
